Dr Su-ming Khoo joins the Expert Advisory Panel as our ethics advisor.
Her research and teaching centre on different/ contested meanings of globalization and development, especially along North/South lines. She focuses on human rights, development theory and political economy of development, emphasising alternative approaches including human development, human rights and sustainable development. She is a strongly inter-and trans-disciplinary scholar, with a particular interest in creative and ethical research and theorizing that bridges human rights, the sociology of knowledge and sustainable development (particularly social sustainability), higher education, public goods, decolonization, participation and agency.
Dr Khoo is the current Head of Sociology in the School of Political Science and Sociology at the University of Galway and Chair of the Research Cluster for Environment, Development and Sustainability (CEDS), NUIG.
