Prof. Bernadeta Killian is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Dar es Salaam, currently serving as Deputy Vice-Chancellor-Planning, Finance and Administration of the same university. Prof. Killian has conducted extensive research and published on public policy analysis and governance, democratization and elections, gender equality, decentralization and local government, youth and women’s engagement in environment management and community peace and security.
Prof. Killian, who is currently serving as a member of UNESCO’s International Bioethics Committee (IBC) has worked as a consultant for various international institutions including the African Union (AU), USAID, World Bank, DANIDA, International Democratic Assistance (IDEA), National Democratic Institute (NDI), UNDP, UN Women, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Embassy of Norway, NORAD, Danish Embassy and many other multinational consultancy firms.
